ALFA ROMEO TYPE B P Multi Union II Original 1939 couleur photo Brooklands
Original and extremely rare early color silver print photograph, dated 1939, showing the Multi-Union II single-seat formula one car, created by British engineer J S (Woolly) Worters, using the chassis and other mechanicals of an Alfa Romeo Type B Monoposto grand prix car of the early 1930s. The car was apparently one of only three cars to ever lap Brooklands in excess of 140mph. The photograph was likely taken during the Campbell Trophy race held at Brooklands on 7 August 1939, just weeks before the start of World War Two, in which the Multi-Union was drive rather successfully by Christopher Staniland.
